
On this day, on March 6, 1910, Berlin lost one of its most renowned and most industrious Stadtbauräte (Councillors for Urban Development) - Hermann Blankenstein, who worked in this position from 1872 until 1896. Since naming every single building or construction would take us approximately until tomorrow, let’s put it this way: Blankenstein designed nearly every school, hospital and market halls built in Berlin at the time.
