Statistics show that right now there are some 280 dogs and nearly 400 cats living in Berlin’s animal shelter in Falkenberge. At 16 hectare, the largest animal shelter in Europe offers safe space to twice as many creatures altogether. The shelter is part of an effort whose one big chapter began today in 1887.
