On this day in 1927 in Berlin one Josef Goebbels - a freshly appointed Gauleiter (head of the local Berlin section of the NSDAP, National-Socialist - or Nazi - Party) who had just landed in the Prussian capital full of plans for helping his party to greatness he believed it deserved (and helping himself to a career he believed he was destined for) - pulled off an important propaganda trick.
