On this day in 1893 Gerhart Hauptmann's theatre drama "Die Weber" (The Weavers) - among most important naturalist-theatre plays ever and one published in Silesian dialect, too - had its pre-premiere at Berlin’s Neues Theater, today Berliner Ensemble on Schiffbauerdamm.
