On May 5, 1885 Berlin’s first football club was established in the city. Believe it or not, by a Frankfurter.
Famous though it is, Hertha BFC 92 (now Herta BSC) and FC Olympia Oberschöneweide - now better known as FC Union - Berlin’s best-known football clubs, were not the city’s first.
