On this day in 1958 (coincidentally, a Monday, too) in Berlin, the city lost one of its most beautiful viewing platforms. The old wooden Müggelturm, a popular restaurant and viewing tower on top of the Kleiner Müggelberg in Berlin-Köpenick went up in flames and burnt down.
