Happy birthday, Karstadt am Hermannplatz! The legendary Berlin department store opened #OTD 1929 in Berlin-Kreuzberg (the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln runs along the facade of the store until today) after 15 months of construction - as the largest department store in Europe.
