In September of 1846 no other place on Earth was closer to stars than Berlin. All thanks to a German astronomer who at the beginning of 1835 joined the team working at the Berliner Sternwarte. The Sternwarte designed by - whom else? - Schinkel, and erected at today’s Besselpark.
