Dear Readers from Berlin & Beyond! On slightly wobbly knees but immensely proud, I present my new Berlin Companion Audio-Walks App.
With the very first audio-walk in a series of many: a walk along Berlin's vanished canal whose bed was first converted into a public park, and later into the death strip along the Berlin Wall - the Luisenstadt Canal between Berlin-Mitte and Berlin-Kreuzberg.
After many months of writing, editing, recording and re-recording, and generally doing things in the digital universe I only partly understand (and would have never been able to do without the kind help from the experts), the Berlin Companion Audio-Walks App has been launched on both Android and Apple platforms.
Since this app and the audio-tours I am creating (in both English and my mother tongue, Polish) mean a new professional direction for me, the tours are not free. However, all regular supporters of the Berlin Companion blog who offered an annual donation will receive gift access to the tour. And each month all free subscribers will be able to win gift access in a lottery held at Berlin Companion HQ (dates to be announced).
Please download the app using your platform of choice, and enjoy a GPS-navigated audio-tour as your companion. Move at your own pace, learning about hidden gems, big historic events (like the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall - the 35th anniversary of the latter is only days away), and about often forgotten people or places. Enjoy access to historic images and maps of the place you visit embedded in the app.
All you need is a smartphone, a pair of comfy shoes and an open ear.
Congrats and good luck 😀
I downloaded the app and was missing an audio sample of some kind. I love your written content online and on paper, but audio is a different thing. Will that be considered in the future?
